Tradify is a solid product

Tradify is excellent software. 30,000+ Australian, NZ and UK tradies use it. It has features Assistly doesn't — proper timesheet tracking, deep inventory management, native Xero and MYOB integration, and an AI bills reader on its Plus plan.

If those features are core to your day, Tradify is probably the right choice.

But Tradify isn't perfect for every tradie. The most common complaints we hear: per-user pricing gets expensive as you grow, the platform is complex for solo operators who just want quotes and invoices, and the sales follow-up can feel pushy. Also — Tradify doesn't have an AI missed call bot.

This page lays out the honest comparison so you can decide. We'd rather you choose right than choose us.

Which one is cheaper for you?

Which one is right for you?

Be honest about how you actually work. The right answer depends on it.

Stick with (or choose) Tradify if...
These are genuine Tradify strengths.
  • You're solo or have 1-7 tradies and want the lowest entry price
  • Timesheet tracking is core to how you bill
  • You need inventory and materials management
  • Native Xero or MYOB sync is non-negotiable today
  • You like having a sales rep to chat to during setup
  • You're already trained up and your team uses it daily
  • You need their AI bills-reading feature
Switch to Assistly if...
These are where Assistly genuinely wins.
  • You're losing jobs to missed calls and want an AI bot that captures them
  • You have (or plan to grow to) 8+ tradies — flat pricing beats per-user
  • You want one predictable monthly bill regardless of team growth
  • You don't want a sales team chasing you — just text the founder
  • You mostly quote, invoice, and manage customer comms (don't need timesheets/inventory)
  • You want founder-level support, not ticket queues
"Used to lose 8-10 jobs a week to missed calls. None of the big platforms could fix it. Assistly's bot pays for itself in the first job each month — and Reece actually answers when I text him."

What tradies ask before switching

Is Assistly cheaper than Tradify?
It depends on team size. Tradify Lite is $48 AUD/user/month for 1-3 users — so a solo tradie pays $48 vs Assistly's $197. But Tradify is per-user, so a team of 8 pays $320+/month, while Assistly Pro stays flat at $347/month. Above ~7-8 users, Assistly typically works out cheaper. Below that, Tradify is. See the full pricing math above.
Does Tradify have a missed call bot?
No. Tradify has appointment reminders, quote/invoice chasers, and inquiry forms — but no AI bot that responds to missed calls and captures structured leads. This is the main reason tradies switch to Assistly. See how the missed call bot works →
Is Tradify better than Assistly?
For some businesses, yes. Tradify has been around longer (30,000+ users), has native Xero/MYOB integration, deeper timesheet/inventory features, and a lower entry price for solo tradies. If those things matter most to you, Tradify is a great choice. Assistly is better if you want a missed call bot, flat pricing as you scale, or simpler onboarding.
Can I migrate from Tradify to Assistly?
Yes. Reece (the founder) personally migrates your customers, open jobs, and quotes during onboarding. Tradify exports clean CSVs that import easily. Most tradies are running on Assistly within a day. Free as part of setup.
Why do some Tradify reviews mention pushy sales calls?
Tradify has a dedicated sales team that follows up on free trials. Some tradies appreciate the help; others find it pushy. Assistly doesn't have a sales team — you talk directly to Reece. We can't promise that's better for everyone, but if you've had bad experiences with SaaS sales reps, you might prefer it.
Does Tradify integrate with Xero and MYOB?
Yes — Tradify has strong native integrations with Xero, MYOB, and QuickBooks. This is one of Tradify's real strengths. Assistly currently exports CSV/PDF for your accountant; native Xero integration is on our roadmap but not live yet. If real-time accounting sync is critical to you today, this is a point in Tradify's favour.
What's Assistly's pricing if I have a team?
Flat regardless of team size. Starter $197/month, Pro $347/month, Business $597/month. Add as many tradies and admin users as you want at no extra cost. With Tradify, every new user adds $40-48/month.
Will I lose Tradify features I depend on?
Maybe. Assistly doesn't currently have Tradify's depth of timesheet tracking, inventory management, or native accounting sync. We cover the core flow — leads, jobs, quotes, invoices, payments, customer comms — really well, plus the missed call bot. If you live in Tradify's timesheets and inventory daily, you'd miss them. If you mostly quote, invoice, and manage customer communication, you'll find Assistly faster.
